Owning RMF is a lifelong dream for Owner Kate Cameron. For 22 years she practiced Family and Internal Medicine as a Physician Assistant, but in mid-life she has been able to move forward with her equestrian dream. Kate grew up riding at Mount Holyoke and Smith Colleges’ community riding programs. Kate got her start in Eventing spending summers at the Eddy Farm in Middlebury, VT as a young teen and has been hooked ever since. “My parents didnt want to get into horse ownership, so I took lessons and clinics and anything I could learn from for many years.” After Carleton College (MN) and graduate school at The George Washington University, she started getting tired of riding other peoples’ young and sometimes naughty horses, Kate purchased an OTTB mare named Frank’s Present, the chestnut mare for whom the farm is named.  With Frankie she competed up through Training level Horse Trials.  Frankie is now gone, but her son Rikki Tikki Tavi (sired by the well-known stallion Riverman), whom she bred and trained herself has competed up through Prelim level Eventing and now helps provide lessons. Kate’s daughter, Liza, rides also.  Kate and Liza live on the premises of RMF with two dogs, three house cats, a barn cat and numerous horses.  Working hard and living the dream.
